Boerne’s Best Fall Activities

The first official day of Fall was last week, September 22nd. We’ve been lucky with the weather taking a much nicer turn and as many of the local businesses have put safety measures in place, most of us are feeling safer to venture out for activities. While we normally blog about home remodeling and renovation to enable you love the home you’re in, we’re also want you to enjoy the area that you live in.  So, we’ve comprised a list of the best Fall activities in Boerne, Texas and the surrounding Texas Hill Country for you and your family to get out and enjoy the wonderful South Texas Fall.

Bat Walk/Night Hike @ Cibolo Nature Center & Farm

October 16th, 7:00 – 8:30 PM

If you’re looking to start the Fall season off with something a little spooky, try out this hike at dusk to scope out the fireflies, bats, moths and owls and other nocturnal critters. You’ll need closed-toed shoes and a flashlight. This is a family friendly hike and the Cibolo Nature Center never disappoints.

Antique Tractor Pull & Pumpkin Festival @ The Agricultural Museum and Arts Center

October 17th, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Bring the whole family for face painting, kid’s pumpkin painting or purchase your own pumpkin to take home and carve from the Boerne Methodist Youth Ministry. Cheer as you watch antique tractors compete to see who can pull the heaviest weight the farthest. Enjoy a little shopping at the Handcrafted Market for one of a kind pieces, as well.

The Roundup Halloween Bash @ The Roundup Music Venue

October 31st, 6:00-11:30 PM

After you and your kids have had their fill of Trick-or-Treating, head over to the Roundup Music Venue and enjoy local musicians and a family friendly costume contest! Limited seating and tables will be available, so be sure to purchase tickets ahead of time.

Fall Foliage Tractor Ride @ Gillespie County Fairgrounds (Fredricksburg)

October 10th

Let nostalgia and an appreciation for the Harvest season take you on a trip back in time as you observe a working blacksmith shop in action. After you’ve enjoyed the tractor, agricultural and engine displays, be sure  to wander through a 1920’s farmhouse replica.

Enjoy a glass of wine @ Wildseed Farms (Fredricksburg)

Sip delicious wine as you stroll through the stunning fields of Wildseed Farms or enjoy a glass from one of their tasting rooms as you overlook these serene fields. Select a pumpkin to take home, along with sunflower seeds to try your hand at growing your own luscious sunflower garden.
